Justice Rena Marie Van Tine serves on the Illinois First District Appellate Court. She became the first female Indian American in the nation to become a judge when she was first appointed as an Associate Judge. She was previously the Presiding Judge of the County Division in the Circuit Court of Cook County where she supervised the 12 judges assigned therein. Before becoming a presiding judge, she served in the Law Division's Jury Trial assignment call at the Daley Center. She was also previously assigned to the Juvenile (Child Protection Division) and Traffic Courts. Justice Van Tine has been a judge for over 23 years.
